Idea Design Studio knows that over the years, many products have come and gone, but some have had a lasting impact on our culture. As a company that helps all those out there who are interested in creating a new product and turning into a new invention, it’s a lot of fun to reflect on different decades and see what come from when. These products, all invented during the 1990’s, all were things that made a big splash. Some are still around, others are just memories—but they are still remembered today either way.
- DVDs: VHS ruled the beginning part of the 90s, but Idea Studio Design shared that once the DVD (also known as Digital Video Disc) was invented, the game of watching movies at home changed dramatically. No more annoying rewinding—but dealing with discs that might scratch easily was the only down side. DVDs are still popular today, but only time will tell if Blu-Ray will take over the market completely.
- Digital Answering Machine: Although most people don’t use answer machines any longer, Idea Design Studio shares they were a big part of the 1990s. When invented in 1991, this item started flying off the shelves and became a must-have at home. But as soon as cell phone business started booming less than a decade later (which comes with that handy voicemail feature) came along and gained popularity, these started drying out.
- The Internet: Where would be today if Tim Berners-Lee didn’t create the World Wide Web? Idea Design Studio knows this invention changed modern communication completely, and made an impact on culture, communication, information availability and so much more.
Idea Design Studio shares that looking at the inventions of the past decades are a fun way to feel inspired. What about these things would you change if you could, and also consider how could something new in their area of technology change our life as we know it.
